A Memorable Stay in Siem Reap -Villa Medamrei

I travelled to Siem Reap, Cambodia on the second week of November 2014 and stayed there for six days mainly for photography. It was not a difficult decision for me to choose the accommodation for my stay, all I needed to do was to check the reviews in Trip Advisor and found this little homely place in the heart of the city called 'Villa Medamrei'. It is an easy five-minute walk to the shops, as well as to the day and night markets. It's also close to the lively 'Pub Street' where you can find many shops and restaurants to suit your needs and palate. If you are a photographer wanting to take shots of night scenes, this is the place to be. The famous 'Angkor Wat' is just a twenty-minute ride by 'tuktuk' and ten minutes by car from here.
The hostel also offers free airport transfer on a tuktuk if you inform them early and just $5 to go to back to the airport when you depart. Included in the rates is your daily breakfast at their clean and spacious restaurant in the upper floor, with friendly and helpful staff who are ready to serve you with a smile. You will also get a welcome drink made of iced honey lemon, banana chips and a cool face towel when you arrive. It was my first time to travel to Siem Reap and the homely environment and helpful staff made me feel safe sooner than expected.
With a bunch of very friendly and courteous reception staff, you can have your tours in Siem Reap arranged easily with them if you need one and a 'tuktuk' driver can be provided whenever you feel like exploring the many scenic places there on your own, it could be a sunrise or sunset tour in Angkor Wat, a visit to Kulen Falls or a leisurely ride to the countryside. You will be informed of the charges before each trip.
Villa Medamrei is a place that I would recommend if ever you are travelling to Siem Reap, and are looking for a reasonably priced accommodation in the heart of town. You will not be disappointed. Do check out their website at http://www.villamedamrei.com/
