Down the farm - Somerton Road

went back to work today after the long weekend. what a very relaxing day! as i got home, after dinner, my daughter and i drove down to somerton road in greenvale hoping to go for walks at the reservoir park... i could never be more thankful to my gps for the accurate and fast navigation right straight to the entrance of the park...but alas, as i pulled in front the gates, they were already closed, the signs inside read 'exit gates close at 5:30 pm'! i then  looked at my watch, 7:55 pm...hmmm, the website for parks victoria which i googled earlier on says, park closes at 8 pm...well, i should have known better and not to rely on positive experiences in the past, i.e. in the other parks which i've previously visited mostly in the afternoons, the park rangers would usually wait for the visitors for at least a few more minutes before closing...oh well, better luck next time, perhaps i'll go there in the morning, maybe this weekend...
so as not to waste time, we decided to just tour around the area... drove past a chicken farm, there were some animals still grazing, and as we were turning to go home we saw a farm with a lone tree that looked pretty from a distance and the horizon was reflecting the beautiful colours of the setting sun in the west... somerton road is in the northern suburbs... i heard my daughter commenting about having to watch the sunset far from the beach being an exciting experience...:-))

below is the road i drove on approaching the park gates -

i did three types of post-processing to three different shots of the lone tree in the farm just to show my own impression of how the place looked with the timing of the sunset from the time we first drove past it and the second time around... till it got darker...
